Mr Martin Lapointe of the Centre interdisciplinaire de développement de la cartographie des océans (CIDCO) attended the Southeastern United States - Canadian Provinces Alliance (SEUS-CP) conference held in St. John's, Newfoundland, July 26-28, 2009.

Ocean technologies were among the featured topics and Mr Lapointe presented the SLGO observatory concept as a key element fostering collaboration and supporting integrated access to information.

The conference gathered about 300 corporate and government leaders from Canada and the United States. The 2009 program was aiming at providing unique international networking and business development opportunities as well as fostering exchanges and knowledge sharing between member provinces and states. Target industries were manufacturing, ocean technologies and energy.
